Troolin email update, 22 September 2009
It looks like we will be able to send and receive email one last time! We
are in Madang town at the moment getting ready to go to the village
tomorrow. Things are going well, except that someone is going to have to put
the village supplies in boxes and then into the truck tomorrow morning. Yes,
I guess that will be us. :)
Tomorrow morning we plan to drive the 2.5 hours to the village. Three things
that we would like to ask you to pray about are that the rivers wouldn't be
flooded (we are in the dry season now, so they should be OK unless it rains
today and tonight up in the hills), that one river in particular wouldn't be
too deep, and that we will be able to fix the problem with the gas fridge so
that we can use it.
In about a week, students at the SIL orientation course (whom we've been
teaching these last six weeks), will hike around in our area. As part of
their time they will work with the Buan people to build an office underneath
our village house! It will be wonderful to have a place where we can work!
We have planned to work on translation and vernacular prep schools on this
time out, as well as daily improving our knowledge of Sam. Please pray for
those things, and for the people working with us, for safety, good attitudes
for all of us, and servant hearts.
God's plans are perfect, and we're so grateful for the part you are playing
in God's plans for us!
God bless you,
Dave and Sarah
