Could you please pray?
Today we drive to Madang, and the road is not that good. Could you
please pray that the drive will be uneventful, no pigs on the road, no
washed out bridges, and so on. You understand. :)
We are so much looking forward to seeing the Sam translators today!
Praise the Lord we get to spend some time with them. We will be going
through a Bible study of Mark that Sarah made, and please pray that the
Lord speaks to their hearts through that study and through all the
things we can do together there.
We'll drive back up on Saturday.
Thank you for praying!
Love,
Dave and Sarah

Troolin email update, 21 August 2011
Time has been passing quickly, as it does! We are feeling more settled
into life here at Ukarumpa, and the children are enjoying school. Last
Friday they participated in Sports Day. They did their best, and we were
so proud of them!
Dave's temporary administrative duty is going well. He feels privileged
to serve the language personnel as he seeks to help others succeed in
their language work. He loves to encourage others and is finding there
are many decisions to make, each one with its own background and
influences. There are also many potential ways that SIL can partner
other organizations and with the government. Please pray for him to be
an effective Director for Language Services (DLS) and for wisdom to know
which opportunities are ones God wants him to move ahead with.
We are working on plans to spend time with our five Sam translators in
Madang next week! It will be great to be all together again! We will
drive to Madang on Monday, August 29, and return to Ukarumpa on
Saturday, September 3. Because of Dave's administrative role it is not
feasible for us to make a village trip by helicopter at this time. We
plan to work on revising the first draft of the book of Mark with Paul,
Jack, Robin, Paulus and Komo while we are there, as well as
homeschooling the children. Please pray that we will have a productive
week!
After that week, Paul, Jack and Robin will return with us to work in
Ukarumpa with Sarah for a few weeks.
The Lord's faithfulness is never-ending, and we praise Him for leading
us along the path He has for us! We're so glad He is with us every step
of the way!
Blessings,
Dave and Sarah Troolin
