Troolin email update, 4 Feb. 2013
Dear Friends and Family,
We are now in our fifth week of teaching at the SIL school in Melbourne.
Dave is teaching anthropology and Sarah is teaching language awareness
(e.g. grammar). The 24 students are studying hard, and we are so
privileged to get to know them! What a great group of people! Some will
join SIL, but some are members of other missions as well.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, Dave will leave to attend an anthropology conference
in the US. He will have a chance to meet and interact with many
anthropologists who are working in the Pacific area, including Papua New
Guinea. It is a great opportunity to network and raise awareness about
the work of SIL! He is excited that he will also be able to spend a
couple of days with his family!
Please pray for Dave's trip (one of his layovers is less than one
hour!), and that he will be a good witness and friend to his fellow
anthropologists at the conference. Pray also for Sarah as she continues
to teach and look after the children. And pray for this new "crop" of
students who will be joining God's mission work in Australia and
overseas! God is doing a new thing! :)
Blessings,
Dave and Sarah Troolin
