Troolin update, December 2017
Dear Friends and Family,
We are excited to tell you about some encouraging news!
The first one is still such a surprise that we feel it is like a dream.
We returned home after a refreshing week away and found a letter in our
mail box saying that Dave's citizenship application has been approved!
Praise the Lord! The citizenship issue has been going on for over six
years of filling out forms and fulfilling requirements, and it is
amazing to finally have it done. He is still required to attend a
citizenship ceremony which is yet to be scheduled. We know that you
have been praying for us and waiting for news about this, too - Thank you!
Secondly, a few days ago we found out that two of the Sam translators
have delivered translation rough drafts to the SIL Madang Centre! We
are so thankful to God that, although we have not heard from them very
often, they are still translating! The two translators, Paul and Robin,
brought hand-written portions of 1 Corinthians and Acts for scanning and
for typing into the computer. This, too, has been a long-term project,
with little contact with the translators to let us know how they were
doing and whether they needed assistance from us, and Paul and Robin's
drafts are a great encouragement for us!
Praise the Lord, who has good plans for us, and who not only sets us out
in a direction, but gives us the strength and provision on even the long
journeys! He guides and answers prayer, and we praise Him!
God bless you,
Dave and Sarah
